Steve came in our shop the other day for some threads for another project and shared this work of art with us.  He said he has made this before and this is a gift for friends.  Don't you wish you could be his friend too!

These are a sample of the new Vineyard Merino and Silk Threads!  Some of the shades of orange are perfect for an Easter Bunny's carrot.

A sale is always fun and that is what we are going to have now.  

We need to get rid of all our Gutermann Seed Beads to make room for a new line we will begin to carry once we check them out at the Trade Show next week.

Oh my goodness - I am shocked this photo is not sideways!

Joyce did this frog up because she thought it was so cute.  After seeing it she asked me what she should do with it - I told her I have no idea.  However I reassured her that she is a true needlepointer now that she has made this classic needlepoint design.  Every stitcher should complete one of these.  Joyce enjoyed working on this canvas and trying new stitches.  I love the Nantucket Basket and I am sure the flowers have something to do with the island as well.

How great is this?  Nancy decided that rather than incur the expense of having her finished canvas installed into a jean jacket that she was not going to wear she decided to have it finished to the back of her new red coat.  This is truly a fun way to display your art.

Guess What?  Just when I think I am getting the hang of the Blog I get another surpise.  Today I was going through some of the older posts and low and behold on December 1st I saw Fran's picture of Stanford University.  I am not sure how it got there now because it was definitely not there originally. You should really all check it out.  Fran designed the canvas and Nancy painted it for her.  If you take the time you could have one from your alma mater too.

Isn't this a beautiful pillow for a ballerina of any age!

Thinking back to a calmer season, Helen made this adorable decoration and had the finisher add the tassels to each side.  I believe it was purchased for the Fall Themed Party we held at the shop.

It is such a busy time of the year with shopping, wrapping and parties.  And we at the shop are busy with finishing, decorating and Trunk Shows.  As you see here we received all the new High Cotton Colors this week.  Come have a peek at them.

Bug Eye

This is something every stitcher should own.  In the trade we call it a bug eye.  With this tool you are able to look over your canvas before you send it to a finisher to see if you have missed any stitches.

I wanted to share an article that Sally gave me from the Ladies Home Journal (July 2011).
Working with your hands can flood your brain with natural antidepressants.  Needlepoint is a great skill to learn at any age.  It will help decrease your stress level.  It helps you cultivate mindfulness and the sense of oneness with your activity.  It will give you a greater sense of control.  You will benefit even if you start small and you will feel a sense of accomplishment sooner.
