What could you do with it?

Santa Fe Steps is a Carole Lake design which when fully completed is a 5 x 5 inch design.

Stitches used in the piece are tent stitch, mosaic stitch, slanted gobelin, scotch stitch, Rhodes stitches, multiple cross stitches and a braided knitting stitch.  The focal point is a “double fan double” stitch, which is a fun exercise.

We’ll walk through all of the stitches with the emphasis being on the double fan double.

This is a versatile piece which can be framed, put into Sudberry  boxes, or made into a pillow.  The center segment may be made into a Christmas ornament or door hanger.   I plan to make my design into a ring bearer pillow for my niece.

You’ll need to select your Watercolour thread and Kreinik thread in advance of the class.  We’ll discuss in class how you can adapt canvas colors and threads for future projects.  These are quick pieces that make wonderful gifts.

The class and materials will cost $70.  You will need to provide 8 x 8 inch stretcher bars.

The Class will be taught by Cathrn Curia.  When signing up please make sure to select your date whether it is Saturday or Sunday.

Saturday, May 17th 1:00PM – 4:00PM

Sunday, June 1st 9:00AM – 12:00PM

Melissa Shirley Thanksgiving Series

As we all know in needlepointing we are always working on the next season.  It’s hard to believe that it is time to start planning your Thanksgiving decorations. We will be offering classes & stitch guides for the Melissa Shirley Designs - Debbie Mumm Thanksgiving series.  There are 11 pieces in the group however we chose 7 of them.  You will have the opportunity to do all 7 pieces or you may choose which ones you would like.  The beauty of this series is that they are fun to stitch and go quickly.

Option 1)
If you choose to do all 7 and want them kitted, the cost of materials will be approximately $300 for the threads and $416 for the canvases.  This is a 20% discount off the price of the a la carte pricing below.   If you purchase all 7 and would like the remainder of the selection these too will be offered at 20% off retail.   If you decide on this option you will also receive 20% off the finishing price.

Option 2)
This is also a great project for you to go through your stash of threads first and fill in with what you don’t have.  If you choose do to do it this way we consider it a la carte and the pricing is below for each project.
 Indian Girl & Boy Pair
$148 for both canvases and $25 for the stitch guide
 Pilgrim Girl & Boy Pair
$148 for both canvases and $25 for the stitch guide
 The pumpkin cart
$82 for the canvas and $15 for the stitch guide
The turkey
$74 for the canvas and $15 for the stitch guide
 Pumpkins
$68 for the canvas and $15 for the stitch guide

In addition there will be a $45 charge per class if you choose to attend them.  Right now they are tentatively scheduled for late May, June & July on Saturday’s from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.  If you miss a class it can easily be made up at a Stitch and Chat.

One more note – many of the stitches are based on the Stitches to Go Book, therefore we recommend that you purchase it if you don’t already have it.

Please note that there is a 6 week lead time for us to get the canvases so please don’t delay in making your reservations for the series.
