THe Princess and Me Santas

I have continued to enjoy The Princess and Me Trunk Show. It's just wonderful how the threads and stitches are used to individualize each Santa. No matter what your interest, I think there is a Santa for you.
Today, I've chosen to highlight three different Santas. I picked the pink one known as Slumber Party Santa because Santa isn't usually depicted in pink. But look how great the stitches are! And the pompom is great. I almost think it could be called the Audrey Hepburn Santa except he would have to be much thinner.

The next Santa is called Blue Suede Santa. Look at his fabulous beard! It's made with bullion knots and is just fabulous. Also, notice that although Santa isn't usually shown in glitzy material, his blue outfit is glitzy. Perhaps, it's the Elvis in him.

Finally, look at Chubby Checkers Santa. He is certainly more old-fashioned. The Scotch Stitch is used effectively here, too.

Winter Sports Santas

Our customers have really loved the Skiing Santa and the Ice Skating Santa. I'm not sure if it's the beards or Santa doing a winter sport. I love the magical quality of the beards. I believe that is achieved by utilizing a metallic ribbon and French knots. In addition, note again the use of metallic threads to make the ornament sparkly.

Certainly, they would be an ideal ornament to work on for the skier or skater in your life. And this is the perfect time to start to make sure the ornament will be done in time for Christmas. I know that my husband and children enjoy the ornaments I've made. They enjoy seeing them again each season.

Manda's Santa

Manda has been stitching a while. She has a great stash of threads and wanted to use some of her stash. She enjoyed doing her Santa but wanted to do a fun beard and mustache. She padded the mustache first and then covered the padding with long stitches. The beard is done with Paternayan wool but she did French knots on a stick. It's a great beard.

This canvas will make a great stand-up.

Celebrating Christmas in Warmer Climates

For those of you who spend Christmas in warmer climates, these ornaments are perfect for your tropical tree. I think the palm tree is just stunning. I love the way it was stitched.

And I think it's thrilling to see dolphins in the water. So this would be a great ornament for a beach house where it's warm at Christmas,

And the flamingos are dressed for Christmas.

Celebration Canvases

The Princess and Me has a wide assortment of canvases to celebrate big (and little) occasions. There is the adorable girl's pram at the left. This canvas makes a great door sign. There is also one for a boy.

There is a canvas for a boy graduate. There would be a great canvas to commemorate a graduation. There is also a girl graduate.

There are several canvases celebrating engagements and weddings. All of these make great gifts.

As you look at the canvases, notice the wonderful use of stitches and threads.  On the pram, the Milanese stitch helps to create the direction of the hood.  And look at the fabulous wheels on the pram - buttonhole stitches around a washer or other circular object.

The other evening, Nancy and I looked at the various ornaments on the wall.  We were so intrigued by the use of threads and stitches.  The Santa Grill master canvas uses bullion knots - for the frankfurters on the grill.  Wonderful beards are created using Fyre werk or Metallic Shimmer Blend with French knots.

Female Athletes

The Princess and Me also has wonderful ornaments for girls who are pursuing different activities. The picture of the cheerleader just doesn't do it justice. It is absolutely fabulous.

I also love the soccer play -- and the ballerina. You could choose the ornament based on what your child love -- or perhaps, what they love this year!

As a swimmer, I think the swimming one if fantastic. Again, I want to point out the fabulous stitching. Remember that each canvas comes with a stitch guide.

The use of metallic threads really helps these ornaments to stand out.

In addition, many of these canvases could be used as a pillow or could be framed for the recipient.

More Canvases for the Sports Enthusiast

There are lots of canvases for the sportsmen (or women) in your life. The Santa canoeing is a fun canvas for someone on a lake. The next canvas is called Santa's tennis ball. And the next one is Christmas on the golf course.

Once again, I want you to look at the wonderful stitching. Notice that all the canvases use some metallic threads. It helps the ornament show up on the tree.

Needlepointing your Trips

Many needlepointers like to do an ornament to commemorate each trip. The Princess and Me has a large group of ornaments related to travel. One of my favorites is the London bus (it's called Tea and crumpets.) You might prefer Big Ben.

The ornament of Venice is wonderful. How nice it would be to do this one during a stay in Venice. (The New York Times had an article this past Sunday on a winter trip to Venice.)

There are also ornaments reflecting a trip to Paris.

Transportation Ornaments

The Princess and Me Trunk show also has wonderful designs featuring different types of transportation. Of course, as a born and bred New Yorker, I love the NYC taxi (although I don't think the checker cab is around anymore). My husband comes from the San Francisco area, so he likes the cable car.

This week we have had at least two or three customers come in to pick up project before their Christmas cruises. How perfect to stitch a cruise ship while you are cruising.

But my favorite transportation ornament is the red pickup truck with its Christmas tree. As a kid, we went on several trips to a Christmas tree farm to get a tree. Of course, it would have been nice to have the red truck but we have to put the tree on top of the van!

Princess and Me Ornaments for Men

Today we got to admire the many Princess and Me ornaments. I had really forgotten how many choices there are! There must be over 700 designs and we seem to have many of them.

I know lots of us like to do ornaments. We frequently pick one out for each member of the house. But sometimes, it's harder to find ones for the men in our lives.

I've picked just a few of the great ornaments that could easily be done for men. I love the skier with the pom pom hat. (Of course, you could just add braids to make it a girl).

Wouldn't the next one be perfect for the sports nut in your life?

And we all loved Santa grilling. What a great ornament for the one who does the grilling.

We are so lucky to have so many of the actual models in the store. We have hung them all up on the wall. It's hard to pick just one! And during the trunk show, if you buy the threads for the Princess and ornaments, we will also give you 10% off on threads, too.

Each bracelet comes pre-wrapped in a white box with a red or green ribbon. We have a very limited supply -- and when they are gone, they're gone.

Each bracelet costs $20. They make great stocking stuffers in addition to gifts for teachers, babysitters, tutors etc. So call or email us to place your order.

Rosemary Stocking for Claire

Rosemary has been working valiantly on stockings for her grandchildren. But just as she finishes one stocking, there seems to be the need for another one. This weekend, Rosemary's daughter and new grandson, Tom came in with her. They were all here to pick up Claire's finished stocking but also to order one for Tom. In the meantime, Rosemary is working on Peter's!

Claire' stocking is a beautiful, traditional stocking. Santa is wearing a long coat and is surrounded by toys. Rosemary did a wonderful job on Santa's beard!
