It is here and it is done.  Last March I took Carole Lake's St. Basil's Class at the shop and completed the canvas within 5 weeks.  I was so excited but really nervous to have it finished for fear it would be ruined.  Well take a look - it is perfect and will sit in my family room with yellow caution tape around it.

These are two of our most popular belt designs.  

Obviously we have cut off some of the NYC skyline as well as the golf course for the photo but I am sure you get the idea.  These make wonderful gifts.

Lots of talk about completing Christmas Stockings this weekend - what happened to Thanksgiving and the Autumn Season?  Helen completed this acorn canvas and sent it for finishing to be made into this wonderful topiary.  Wouldn't a set of three be stunning on a buffet table?

Sally made this ornament for her soon to be daughter in law and had the date of the engagement embroidered on the back.

How Fun is this Canvas!!!

I am posting this blog with a request for some help.  

Back in March Petei announced her retirement at the end of the year.  

I took numerous orders that month which Petei had guaranteed to fill.

The Wicked Witches of Stitching are coming to
Ridgewood Needlepoint this summer. 
Join us at an informal stitching class, select one of eight Melissa Shirley Witches and this informal class will tackle an area of the canvas each week; background, border, clothing, face/hair and accessories.  
You will not get a stitch guide but several suggested stitches and threads for each area to stitch your witch uniquely your own.  
For a selection of the witches to choose from go to www.melissashirleydesigns.com and enter the number 480 in the search area and up will pop your choice of 8 different witches.

The classes will be held on Tuesday from 6:30 until 8:30 PM
on the following dates: 

June 5, June 19, July 10, August 7 and August 21. 

The deadline to sign up for the class is May 15, 2012.

Materials:  Melissa Shirley Witch Canvas and stretcher bars,
Please bring scissors, laying tool, beading supplies (Tacky Bob or E-Z beader) to class. This is a great class to us your stash threads and the rest of the threads can be purchased during class.

Class Size:  Minimum 4   Max 10

Cost:  $125 for classes.  Deposit:  $50  

Policies:  When you sign up the canvas will be ordered for you. 
If you have to cancel you will still have to purchase the canvas.
We realize that it is summer so if you miss a class you will be given the notes and a free stitch and chat, you will still be charged for the class.

During the Summer we will also offer an Advanced Beginner Class
taught by Susan Bisanzo of Greenwich Ct. 
Susan is a very accomplished stitcher and wonderful teacher. 
Having taught at locations in our area before and taken
numerous classes with renown instructors. 
Susan will be teaching Ruth Schmuff’s Eye Candy Geometric. 
This canvas is available in two different color waves.

The classes will be held on Sunday from 10AM – 1PM on the following dates:

June 24^th, July 15^th and August 5^th.

Materials:  Beading needles (I like #10, the short ones) size 20, 22 and 24 needles, laying tool, scissors, stretcher bars, tacks or staples, tacky bob or ez beader, magnet for needles, metal scissors for cutting Kreinik (although I usually use my good scissors), little baggies and ring for holding threads

The deadline to sign up is May 13^th as it will take
6 weeks to order your canvas.

Class Size:  Minimum 4  Max 10

 Policies:  When you sign up the canvas will be ordered for you. 
If you have to cancel you will still have to purchase the canvas.
